Web Design / Web Designer Process: Each professional Web Designer should go though a series of steps with her clients to ensure the most professional product and to ensure that the client is happy. I have outline this process below. If you have any question please let me know. Step 1 : Communicate / Define Step One is a series of questions and answers between the designer and the client so that the designer can get a very clear picture of the function of the web site. She also will need to know if there will be any extra software or features involved in the development of the side. This step is very important. It is necessary for the good organization of the site. In this stage, the final estimate is determined for the project as well as a due date is established. If one has not been provided at this timel. Step 2: The Design This is the step where the hard work begins. After a deposit is received and the contract agreed upon then the design gets to work. The client will also provide the designer with any pictures or content he/she wants included in the web site. The designer will work up a layout. The client will be provided with a private URL and a password. The client will look at the layout and make notes on what he likes and would like to see changed. This process continue until a final layout design is reached. This step of the process is very time consuming and can take upward from 2 weeks or more. Step 3 : The Database and testing Step 2 and step 3 are actually happening at the same time. Because how the page is to interact with the database is affected by the design of the page. Once the database is tested with the design of the new site then it is presented to the client for further testing to make sure it is working the way it should. Step 4 Final Web site Design There are always those last minute little changes to make a site perfect. It is during this step that the site is gone thought with a fine tooth comb. Any error should be quickly pointed out and corrected. The site will require one more approval of completion at this point in time. Once it has been officially "signed off" as complete - the Developer will upload the web site to it's permanent domain name address (www.your-site-address.com) At this time... Final payment is due.
